Receiving payments
Receiving payments from a marketplace or employer
Check the payer’s requirements before sharing your available account details.
THE SHORT ANSWER
A marketplace payout may be received only if the payer, payment method and issued receiving instructions are compatible. A marketplace listing does not establish an Ostro integration.

In this guide
You may be able to receive eligible marketplace, employer or platform payments using available receiving details. Acceptance depends on both the receiving route and the payer’s own rules.
Check compatibility first
Compare the payer’s payout requirements with your workspace instructions:
- Does the payer support the specified local currency and rail?
- Does the required account-holder name match your issued details?
- Does the payer require a bank country, account type or method your details actually support?
- Is that type of third-party payment permitted for your account and location?
Do not select an incorrect account type, country or transfer method just to complete the payer’s form.
No universal marketplace acceptance
Ostro does not claim a direct integration with every marketplace or payroll service. A platform may refuse a receiving arrangement even when the underlying rail is supported.
If the payer requests SWIFT details, verification codes or microdeposits, use the relevant guide or contact support. Never invent missing bank information.
Keep a payment record
Ask the payer to keep the payment confirmation, date, amount, currency and transfer reference. These details help investigate a payment that is not visible after the expected processing window.
If the payer’s requirements change, check the route again before the next payment.
